Connect a Verohallinto Production Certificate to Tulos.ai

A Finnish Tax Administration production certificate identifies an organisation when software uses production APIs such as Vero API or the Incomes Register interface. To connect the certificate through Tulos.ai, you need the transfer ID and one-time password sent by the Tax Administration to the named technical contact.

You do not need to retrieve and manage the certificate file manually when using the Tulos.ai onboarding flow. Enter the credentials directly in the company’s certificate setup; do not email or paste them into a support chat.

Before you begin

Confirm three points:

• You can act for the organisation and have the required Suomi.fi authorisation where applicable.
• You are selecting the correct Finnish Business ID (Y-tunnus).
• The technical contact is a person who can securely access the message and complete setup promptly.

The transfer credentials are valid for 14 days and can be used only once. If they expire, request a new certificate.

Step 1: sign in to the Certificate Service

Open the Tax Administration’s Production certificates page and follow the sign-in link. Identify yourself using accepted strong identification and select the organisation for which the certificate is requested.

Check the Business ID and contact details before continuing. A certificate requested for the wrong organisation cannot be fixed by changing the company later in Tulos.ai.

Step 2: check the API application

A certificate is used with one or more authorised interfaces. If the organisation already has the required interface access, continue to the order. Otherwise submit the interface application in the service, accept the terms and retain every interface the organisation still needs when replacing an earlier application.

If you do not know which interface Tulos.ai requires for your use case, confirm it before submitting the application.

Step 3: order a new production certificate

Choose the option to order a new certificate. Select the relevant interface, add a clear description such as Tulos.ai production certificate, and name the technical contact.

The technical contact is important: the Tax Administration sends that person the secure message containing the retrieval details.

Step 4: open the secure email

The message contains:

• the transfer ID
• the one-time password

Opening the secure message may require a PIN delivered by text message. Copy both values exactly without leading or trailing spaces. Treat them as credentials and use them within 14 days.

Step 5: enter the details in Tulos.ai

Open the production-certificate setup for the correct company in Tulos.ai. Enter the transfer ID and one-time password, then select Request certificate.

Tulos.ai performs the technical retrieval. The one-time password is used for the certificate request and is not retained as a reusable password.

Common problems

Credentials have expired

Request a new certificate in the Certificate Service. The old transfer details cannot be reactivated.

Transfer details are rejected

Copy them again from the secure message and check for spaces or character substitutions. Confirm that they have not already been used.

The secure message went to the wrong person

The named technical contact receives the details. If that person cannot complete the setup securely, request a new certificate with the correct contact.

Interface permission is missing

Complete the required interface application before retrieval.

Acting for the company fails

Check the selected organisation and Suomi.fi authorisation. Personal bank credentials identify the person; they do not automatically grant the right to act for every company.
